Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), an innovator in international cruising for 54 years, lifted the curtain and revealed all the details about the spectacular entertainment and various activities guests can expect aboard Norwegian Prima.
The first of six ships in NCL’s new Premium Class, which became the brand’s most sought-after ship with record bookings this May, will be the stage for the Tony Award®-nominated Summer: The Donna Summer Musical. Norwegian Prima will introduce guests to numerous new cruise ship firsts and all-new onboard attractions, including a world-first three-story theater that converts to a Las Vegas-style nightclub, a free-fall slide and the largest go-kart track in the sea.

“With this ultimate adrenaline rush on board, we offer a whole new experience at sea and stimulation of all the senses,” said Harry Sommer, president and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line. “With the launch of Norwegian Prima, we wanted to exceed our guests’ expectations and offer them more freedom, better service, thoughtful design and a variety of unforgettable experiences.”

Absolute Star-Entertainment
The powerhouse production team that created the Jersey Boys musical production, currently aboard Norwegian Bliss, also produced Summer: The Donna Summer Musical. It tells the story of Donna Summer’s meteoric rise from starlet to disco queen, with more than 20 of Summer’s mega disco hits, including “Bad Girls,” “Last Dance,” and “Hot Stuff.” The soulful 75-minute production celebrates its premiere at sea: the theater is transformed into a nightclub and guests become part of the show and can dance to Summer’s legendary disco mixes. From the disco glamor of “Summer” to the neon lights of “Light Balance Universe” with Light Balance, known from “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” and winner of the golden buzzer in the American equivalent “America’s Got Talent”, the unique dance team brings its stunning visuals and style to Norwegian Prima. Guests experience high-energy choreography and acrobatics and take part in a spectacle for all the senses.

Great theater and night club – a versatile masterpiece
The hub of all of Norwegian Prima’s shows and live acts is the three-story Prima Theater. The venue has been designed in such a way that the performance stage can be transformed into a spacious dance floor in the blink of an eye. The theater features a flexible and customizable seating arrangement and a luxurious mobile LED screen that descends from the ceiling and occupies nearly half the space. The extravagant nightclub is equipped with special technology and offers visitors many innovative lighting and special effects, so you can dance on the dance floor until late at night.

Interactive game shows
Norwegian Prima is raising the bar for entertainment at sea with the introduction of LIVE on NCL interactive game show experiences. These Fremantle Media game show productions allow the audience to be a part of the show and win attractive top prizes:

  • The Price Is Right LIVE on NCL – here guests can bid amounts to qualify for a raffle for a chance to spin the wheel of fortune for a big win.
  • “Supermarket Sweep LIVE on NCL”: The Prima Theater is transformed into a supermarket, where contestants race down the aisles in teams and compete in a fast-paced game show in terms of product knowledge and speed.
  • “Press Your Luck LIVE on NCL” – The game format brings excitement to the classic among American family games. Guests must answer test questions on a large board and wait for a main prize.
  • Beat the Clock LIVE on NCL – This is the ultimate competitive game where guests come together to use luck, speed and strategy to overcome fun challenges, in a race against the clock.

Varied activities for all tastes.
As the only cruise line to offer guests go-karts at sea, NCL goes one step further on Norwegian Prima: Prima Speedway is larger and the first triple-deck race track. Prima Speedway has a longer straight with a track length of 420 meters and is 22 percent longer overall than the current longest kart track on Norwegian Encore. The race course loops around and through the ship’s funnel and features 14 exhilarating curves that allow 15 drivers to compete simultaneously on the high seas at speeds in excess of 50 kilometers per hour. After the ultimate thrill, racers can kick back at the new Prima Speedway Bar below the racetrack.

For guests seeking an adrenaline rush at sea, Norwegian Prima offers The Drop, the world’s first free-fall dry slide, where guests experience a ten-story free fall experience – guests experience the full force of the gravity. The thrill is followed by a race down two parallel dry slides “The Rush.”

NCL’s popular indoor virtual gaming complex, the Galaxy Pavilion, is also expanding, offering guests 14 attractions to choose from, including four new simulator experiences only available on Norwegian Prima, two different escape rooms and a superior golf swing suite, the only one of its kind at sea. Topgolf Swing Suite enables an intense gaming and community experience with a variety of the best golf games, world-renowned virtual golf courses and multiplayer games. Topgolf Swing Suite features Full Swing golf simulator technology, the same simulator used by PGA Tour professionals like Tiger Woods and Jon Rahm.

On board Norwegian Prima there will be additional activities for guests of all ages: The Bull’s Eye, a twist on the classic game of darts with a sophisticated video tracking system that automatically calculates each guest’s score and offers instant replays of the game. Also new is Tee Time, an innovative take on miniature golf where visitors can enjoy nine interactive holes in a Las Vegas-like setting for a chance to win big prizes.
