▷ Trend colors in 2022 for your marketing campaigns

What will be the trendy colors in 2022? Like every year, Shutterstock released its report to help marketers and designers align brand messaging with user interests and trends…

Not surprisingly, tastes change depending on the cultural climate. What is hot one year is not necessarily hot the next.

Therefore, brands must use color trends to optimize their marketing campaign. After a very difficult period in terms of health, many of our priorities have changed. Little things mean a lot.

To publish its new Trending Colors in 2022 report, Shutterstock relied on data from its users and artificial intelligence (AI)

“2021 has been a year of considering the consequences of the year that has been. Today, brands and agencies around the world are adapting their color palettes to calm and evoke stability and balance,” said Flo Lau, Creative Director, Shutterstock. “We are excited to take our creative ideas to the next level for this year’s report with the inclusion of AI-identified color, helping creatives confidently maximize the impact of their work. With this report, we want to give creatives the knowledge they need to make thoughtful and impactful decisions in everything they create. We are fortunate to have access to the content decisions of nearly two million creators on our platform, allowing us to predict where changes are occurring. These colors tell us that people are looking for natural, earthy and calming tones.

Therefore, the color scheme is more subdued, minimalist and soft compared to previous years. No flashy stars, no neon reflections. Nothing artificial. In the color trends in 2022 there will be only simplicity and subtle elegance.

Popular colors by country

By analyzing data on the most popular hues used by region, Shutterstock analysts were able to provide a holistic view of trending colors around the world.

Shades of green in the spotlight

Shutterstock.AI, powered by artificial intelligence, was able to determine that shades of green had a strong impact on click-through and conversion rates. Hints of emerald, jade, lime, mint and more make a splash. Integrate these specific colors into your marketing campaigns to further reach your target.

To inspire you, this green color palette is very complete:

Velvet Violet or Velvet Violet (color code #800080)

Not a big fan of purple? However, this Velvet Violet (or Velvet Violet) shade draws the eye with its irresistible magnetism. By no means garish, she remains soft, gentle, and embodies royalty.

This is an excellent base for flashy electric neon-type creations. It also goes very well with emerald or another contrasting shade of green, quite a dramatic and deep green.

Pacific Pink (color code #DB7093)

Reminiscent of images of a wilted flower pressed between the pages of an old book, this subtle hue is about to have a banner year!

Combined with other shades of pink and peach, it is perfect to create a unique feeling… This color also goes very well with a light blue-green, reminiscent of the sunset on a sparkling Pacific beach.

Calming Coral (color code #E9967A)

Do you want to give your design work a nostalgic tint? Coral is one of the trending colors in 2022. In addition to pairing with dusty yellows and pinks, it also pairs beautifully with sky blue to complete a comforting, natural palette. Between warmth, calm, vulnerability, nostalgia, this atypical color brings to the fore feelings of comfort and peace.

The results indicate that serenity is key in 2022 when choosing colors. Soothing coral, velvety purple and peaceful pink are the serene color trio that Shutterstock says will define the color trends of 2022.

If you want to create a new design this year, take inspiration from these top trend colors. Whether you’re looking for a design that will last forever or want to refresh your brand, there are plenty of ways to incorporate these color trends into your graphic designs.
